Hear No Evil and the Temple of Texas

Hear No Evil is now in the USA, in Temple Texas to be more precise. a short drive north of Austin, music capital of the South. We are launching our new mix room in collaboration with esession.com.

This means that customers can send files to be mixed via the esession protocol and in particular, for them to have surround versions of their music.

As in London, we can also offer a full DVD authoring service from the Texas premises under the guise of See No Evil.

We can also prep stuff in Texas and then take it back to the superbly equipped London studio to run it through the analogue Euphonix for final tweaks.

DTS HD Hits The Road

Ian Greaves of SeeNoEvil was commissioned by DTS to catch the intrepid duo of Rodney Orpheus and Jeff Levison on video as they taught us all a thing or two about surround sound at France Television Publicite, Paris, and London's own BAFTA.

They went on to unveiled DTS's new secret weapon the DTS HD encoder Decoder "do everything' software to an enthusastic crowd of who's who in content authoring and music mastering.

When HD DVD and BluRay disc hits your local high street store these guys rest assured that these guys have the high def audio covered.

Steve Parr Wins Surround Music Award

Once again Steve Parr has been awarded the prize for best surround mix at the Surround Music Awards held at the Beverly Hilton in LA. This year it was for "Reich at the Roxy", a live album of the music of Steve Reich performed by Alarm Will Sound and recorded by Steve Parr in New York.

Steve Reich Sourround Music Awards

The concert was filmed in high definition video and audio recorded at 96k 24bit. After editing by producer Mike Roberts (Sweetspot Productions), Steve and Mike mixed the concert in both 6.1 surround and stereo at Hear No Evil studio.

Steve says "this was probably the most difficult mix I have ever had to accomplish. It was like rescuing a child from a burning building; the material was so complex and demanding on the ears and it took the best part of a year before we were happy with the mixes".

Steve Reich as said that he considers it the best performance and recording ever of his work.

The War Of The Elizabeths!

Both Rob Lane and Martin Phipps have been recording and mixing their respective scores for Channel 4’s Elizabeth 1 and BBC’s The Virgin Queen back to back throughout September.

Very confusing with many of the same musicians on successive days recording to two sets of actors playing the same roles. With Hear No Evil and contractors Cool Music being the only common link, we were sworn to secrecy over the prospective scheduling of the two programs.

It's All Cool At HearNoEvil

Its summertime again and so while you lot have been down to the seaside with your buckets & spades, we’ve been turning our minds to more mundane things like insuring that everybody’s going to be like cucumbers when you return. To that aim, we have replaced the air conditioning in both the control room and the main studio area courtesy of our friends at Lennox Jones Air Con.
Terry Macquaide as usual has been supervising the refit, and has also taken the opportunity to tighten up the acoustics with the refurbishment of the various parts of the building structure.

So, all in all, a more comfortable HEAR NO EVIL awaits!
